Rives are deprecated, so there are no plans to support anymore.

And the recommendation for now is to insert json into searchbox whenever there is an insert happening in mongo?

Yes Vikas, exactly.
If your framework supports best practice is using after events to reflect changes made in MongoDB.
In worst case you can wait for MongoDB result and sync ElasticSearch.

Connecting a filesystem from cloud would not be possible. Except it is hosted or accessible via network like S3.
